Local First Springfield crowned 11 award winners during a virtual celebration last night.
Local First Springfield is a nonprofit made up of local independent businesses and organizations in Sangamon County. Its purpose is to educate and create awareness of the value of supporting local businesses.
Special guest, City of Springfield Mayor, Jim Langfelder, gave a warm welcome to viewers of the video premiered on Local First Springfield Facebook page.
“Congratulations to all the recipients and, as importantly, thank you for all the businesses that make our community thrive. You are the backbone of our community, not only for Springfield residents but for our surrounding communities serving us well. So, thank you for all you’ve done pre-pandemic, during the pandemic, and what you’ll do post-pandemic. Together we’ll get through this and be stronger together,” said Mayor Langfelder.
