The Kellner Family has sold their remaining interest in M. J. Kellner Co., Inc. to the Kellner Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), solidifying M. J. Kellner as a fourth-generation locally owned business. Bill Kellner, current President and Chief Executive Officer, will continue to be involved in the business and serve as the Chairman of the Board. Dave Rikas, the company’s long time Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will become President of M. J. Kellner.
In 2013, Bill Kellner initiated the ESOP to ensure the business would remain locally owned and independent.
The transition was executed over a period of 9 years. The employees of M. J. Kellner receive stock ownership in the company at no cost and it is meant to be an additional source of retirement income.
The employees of M. J. Kellner are honored to be entrusted with this opportunity and look forward to continuing to serve Springfield and the many surrounding communities that they represent.
